Once a week, give your bathroom a more thorough top-to-bottom cleaning. Use a diluted solution of all-purpose cleaner or a commercial bathroom cleaner to clean sinks, counters, and shower stalls.
1. Use seperate sponges or cleaning cloths for cleaning the toilet area, which is likely to have the highests concentration of germs.
2. Avoid storing toothbrushes near the toilet. With every flush, particles of water (and E. coli germs) can spray and land up to 20 feet away. ALWAYS close the toilet lid before flushing. The age old debate about toilet seats is equally incorrect. Men simply lift both the toilet lid and the seat, then lower both prior to flushing. Women simply lift the lid, then lower prior to flushing. Obvious?
3. If you prefer to do bathroom cleaning on a 'catch-as-catch-can' basis, try cleaning the toilet, sink, and mirror while supervising children in the bathtub.
4. Using the nontoxic product below, you can clean the shower while you are in it. Scrub the walls and floor, and then scrub yourself (but not with the shower cleaner!).
